PRESS-ON NAILS: FAQs
A prep kit is included with every press-on order. A prep kit includes a mini nail file, mini nail buffer, wooden cuticle stick, two alcohol pad wipes, nail glue, and a sheet of 24 adhesive tabs (another application option besides nail glue).
With adhesive tabs or sticky tabs, your press-on nails can last up to 2-6 days with proper prep. Adhesive tabs are ideal for a day or two wear but with proper prep, your press-on nails can last up to 6 days. (I have tested this theory and succeeded.) With nail glue, your press-on nails can stay on for as long as five days to two weeks with proper prep. If a press-on nail falls off, make sure to remove any glue residue from your finger and from the underside of the press-on nail. Buff your natural nails before reapplying the press-on nail.
You must properly prep your natural nails for the press-on nails to stay. The rougher the nail beds are (dehydrated, no oils), the more the press-on nails will stay on. Oils, lotions, and creams being present on your natural nails will make the press-on nails come off quicker.
There is a video I linked on showing how to apply press-on nails in my "Application" section of this page.
Press-on nails are reusable so please treat them like jewels and not tools. Soaking press-on nails in acetone will completely damage the press-on nails and can no longer be worn. Soak your nails in hot soapy water/cuticle oil for 20 minutes then check your sidewalls with the wooden cuticle pusher (in your prep kit) to see if the press-on nails are ready to lift up and off gently. If the press-on nails are not coming off, continue soaking your nails in hot soapy water. Repeat the process until press-on nails come off gently. To reuse, remove any glue residue from the underside of the press-on nails.
